WHEN WILL COMPETITORS STAND UP AND BE COUNTED!

Time and time again, we hear eventing competitors bleating about the size/height/placing/etc of the jumps, dressage riders about schools/teachers/etc, show jumpers about the size of the classes/height of jumps/everything. Showing riders whingeing about horses being too fat/judges knowing riders.
BUT THEY ARE DOING IT WRONG - THEY ARE WHINGEING TO THE PEOPLE WHO KNOW IT.
They should be constructively critical to the people who can change it (if necessary in some cases). Approach the right people in the right frame of mind, have their gripes written down and be constructive about how things can change. Be correct and don't go on about personalities, take it to the agms and to the committees. All stand together and be counted.
DON'T WHINGE AND WHINE - JUST GO AND DO IT - OR SHUT UP!!!

INTERNET BUYING SCAMS

For god's sake, what is wrong with a lot of you????
What part of idiots do you not get??
Again, you are too damn greedy and think that by accepting more money that an item is worth you will get to keep the money, or that you will send it on??
Time and time again, scams are going round to take you lot for a ride, and time and time again you flipping well fall for it all.
Why can't you see them for what they are worth?
BECAUSE AGAIN, YOU ARE TOO DAMN GREEDY AND THINK YOU CAN MAKE MONEY! ! ! ! !
And I will tell you something, this will go on and on because you are.
Its like working from home, you do it for damn all because they have you over a barrel, you think you are earning lots but take it down to £££'s per hour and you are probably making something like 50p an hour. But again, you are greedy.
THERE IS NO FREE LUNCH.
When will people learn not to get taken for a ride.
I get really fed up with this sort of thing going on, but a friend said something which made me think the other day, she said "it makes the world go round".
So if you are gullible enough to get taken in by scams/dealers/conmen, then in my book, you flipping well deserve to get taken to the cleaners and don't then go bleating about it, because everyone then knows how stupid you really are, and they will say so

Valentine's Day is Coming... hurry

Get your horse and your backside a truly wonderful experience - I know I have one...

A Saddle Company Saddle. Its what your bottom has been waiting for. Just think of the lightness as you place the saddle on his back, the massaging action of the serge underside, the ease of cleaning the damn thing, the position you are put in to ride the most amazing trot that is coming from underneath you, which you have created, which you are now riding to, which should get you better marks in your dressage. (obviously we cannot guarantee you winning your class, but we dare you to buy one and see!!)
Try the Nuubuck or suede versions (sadly extra charges apply- but not too much).

The best bit is coming...

THIS SADDLE HAS AN ADJUSTABLE TREE TEC TREE AND PRICES START FROM JUST £452.50 (This is a pony gp) We will come and template for you. Adult GP is £525.00.

Templating is just £35.00 in the south east from us, we are Saddle Company Saddle Fitters. We have a special offer on two of these saddles for January 2007, watch out for the new Pegasus magazine.

Contact the Saddle Company direct on www.thesaddlecompany.co.uk

New year - new you!

Now that 2007 is almost upon us, taking into account all the hoohah of 2006 with regards to how professionals teach us, and what THEY want us to wear/ride/ride on/ride with etc., etc., Why don't you take a moment to think of what you want!
Hey, got you. Now you have to think for yourself, instead of always being told of what is good for you/your image.
Think of what you want for your horse, does he need to have his mouth strapped really tight? Does he even need a noseband? Does he appreciate being kicked in the ribs and then smacked in the gob because he is then going forward?
2007 should be the year of enlightened riding, take off all gadgets and gimmicks that you see professionals ride in because :-
A. They are (usually) better riders and have tried other methods first
B. They are getting paid an awful lot of money to advertise the products (remember Forest Gump?)
C. They are experienced. Are you able to ride what you create????

If your riding is letting you down, have lessons from a GOOD instructor, see them teach, do you understand their methods? Could you get on with them? Do they ride their Client's horses? Do they want you to take short cuts to "get there"? Do they teach their Client as well as the Client's horse? Do they take into account your size, ability, length of leg, fitness levels of you and your horse? Or are they just interested in clock watching, answering their phone while teaching, or just the money you are paying?
If any of the above apply, tell them to take a hike and rip off another unsuspecting idiot in her designer gear and fluffy bandages. You are paying a lot to them, get them to do what you want! ! ! !

Lots of horses and ponies for sale

At www.cobwebs-saddlery.co.uk
We offer our clients a service of putting their horse or pony for sale/loan/share on our site. It is changing often and more will be appearing from next week (4th Dec 06)

Why should you wash a rug?

This has set me off thinking.......
Because it looks nice washed
Looks too clean too use afterwards
Makes the life of the rug longer
Takes away all the scurf and yeuck from inside and outside
Washes away all bacteria etc
To see how long your horse takes to get it filthy/damaged when you put it back on
It smells nice and clean and far too good to wear

Springtime is coming ! ! ! !

Please log onto our website www.cobwebs-saddlery.co.uk for all your needs and presents, we are updating daily, so please let us know if you don't see what you are looking for.

We also have our shop in Haywards Heath, come in for a chat, possibly a cup of tea or coffee, come and look at our horses for sale board, also on our website pages. Look at our extensive range of bits. Rummage through our secondhand section. Chose from our large range of Shires, Mark Todd, William Funnel rugs and items.
Don't forget our mobile tack shop is available to come to your yard and show our ranges.

Rug Washing

Don't forget as you put your horse to bed in thicker rugs, that your lightweight turnouts and sheets need preparing before you put them back on in the spring, which won't be far away. Leaving your lightweight rugs where you left them (is your bedroom just as bad?) maybe slightly wet, most certainly dirty, and possibly damaged is not going to do them or your pocket much good, wet rugs will grow mould and quickly rot, they will keep bugs, rats and mice warm throughout the winter, passing on horrible Vials disease, so, please call me 01444 417517 to come and collect (free) them, wash, proof (as necessary) repair (all done in house) and return them to you in a large plastic bag (transportation use only - not for storage) ready for you to use in the Spring.

Horse Dealers

Having read all the press, spoken to lots of horse riders and some dealers. It seems to me that "caveat emptor" has never crossed the people who buy from dealers' minds.

Why do perfectly normal sensible people leave their brains at home when they go and look at horses?

They will buy one unseen from the internet, not for lots of money, and then wonder why things go wrong!!

What part of STUPID!!! don't they get?

What happened to vettings? Albeit they cost money but if you are not paying a lot for the horse in the first place (that should give you a clue that things perhaps are not right) they would be saving themselves lots in the long run.

Shall I give you the answers?

Because they all are too big headed!!

1. They think they know more than the dealer
2. They think they can make money

What about the problems they could have?
Fail the vetting
Fail the blood test

A lame horse could be buted, so it could be doped for behavioural problems.

A dealer is the answer for a lot of professionals who cannot let it be known that they have a "wrong" horse to get rid of. It is sold to them on the cheap knowing the problem will "go away" to some poor unsuspecting novice rider who has limited money and sees the opportunity of buying "a good horse" on the cheap. There is no "free lunch" in the horse world. When will people realise this?
